Uharte-Arakil Shepherds' Day

Shepherds’ Day has been held every year in Uharte-Arakil since 1968, on the last Sunday of August, organised by the Aralar Mendi society. The spectacular machine shearing championship sets out to show the skill and dexterity of specialist shearers from around the world and, above all, to promote machine shearing, which gives dairy ewes the fastest and best treatment.
